About The Cutter Bloodhound
The original Bloodhound was built in 1874 for the Scottish Marquess of Ailsa. Designed by the legendary William Fife II, she was one of the first yachts of the era built exclusively for racing, incorporating a narrow beam, cutter rig and tall sail plan. She won every race she entered until she burned in a fire in the 1920’s. The replica, built in the 1990’s in Del Ray California, is based on drawings recovered from the Kennedy Family Castle in Scotland. The Bloodhound has seventy feet of beautiful teak deck, a 22 foot retractable bowsprite and a 48 foot boom. She has 3,500 square feet of sail, including a jackyard topsail. We look forward to sailing with you!

In the summer of 1987, I worked and lived on-board Hindu for a couple of months during my 18 month travels of USA. In August 2025 I returned to the Cape for the first time since and booked the sunset cruise on Hindu. It was fascinating to hear what Hindu has been through in the meantime. The dedication of the current owners / skippers to return Hindu to her former beautiful self is remarkable. The sunset sail was absolutely brilliant, very relaxed, with incredibly friendly crew and a most fantastic voyage down memory lane for me! If you are ever in P'Town you MUST set sail on Hindu. We have done two sails with a group of friends on the Clipper Bloodhound, and have had a fantastic experience both times. The crew is awesome - friendly, funny, and entertaining. Love having the cute dog on board; she assists the crew. Such a unique and beautiful Provincetown activity with really nice sunset and town views. The Bloodhound Sunset cruise was a relaxing and great wind down for the day. Captain Josh and his crew were experienced and fun to interact with. We were lucky to get a double sunset that night, and beat the Hindu back to dock. The ship dogs just added to this experience, for they are part of the crew too. Caitlin Crowley12 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Brought some friends down to Ptown and just had to get them out on the water. The vibes, the pups, the beautiful boat - all of it was a 10/10 experience. Bring some snacks and some libations and you have got a solid, quintessential Cape Cod experience. Scott Finley9 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our sailing experience today was outstanding! Having all four sails up was wonderful. The boat gracefully sailed through the waters of Provincetown Harbor. The sight of the dolphins swimming through the harbor was an unexpected treat. Everyone on board was happy and just having the best time, thanks to the wonderful crew. Their passion for and joy of sailing was evident, making everyone feel welcomed throughout the trip. The Schooner Hindu staff provided a memorable day on the water! Steve in NEPA (Steve in NEPA)7 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a truly wonderful experience! From the friendly greeting on the dock, to the equally friendly captain and crew, this was by far the best sail I've enjoyed in a very long time. In a word, memorable. Dave McKeeman1 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had so much fun sailing on the Hindu and can’t wait to go again. Felt like we were out with old friends who happen to have a beautiful boat. Our group ranged from ages 2 to 70 and everyone enjoyed themselves. It seemed breezy at the dock but once we were out of the harbor we had a really smooth cruise around the bay. Easily the highlight of our week on Cape Cod! Charles Veith31 July 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Last week my daughter and I had the opportunity to sail with the crew of the Blood Hound. I am not overly fond of being on sailboats, but my concerns were quickly resolved by the laid back and talented crew. We spent our time sailing PTown Harbor talking about many subjects like the history of the BloodHound, the ecology of the Cape (Coastal Studies) and of course sailing. Next time down to Provinceton, we will definitely be trying out the Sunset Cruises. Pamela Forant29 July 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Top notch! Captain Josh made our experience feel more like a sail with friends than a standard, run of the mill boat ride. Highly recommend! We loved it!
